Hotel Tonight is State-of-the-Art for iOs

Hotel Tonight is state-of-the-art for iOs. This slick little app does only one thing: finds discount hotel rooms in your area for a fairly hefty discounted price. I downloaded it a few minutes ago from the Apple App Store. The app installed with no problems.  When launched for the first time it asks permission to use your location information.  I usually answer “no” to this question, but it seemed relevant this time so I answered “yes.”  I was greeted with this screen:

Your location appears first on the list, followed by an alphabetical listing.  Tap your current location (Silicon Valley in my case, nice touch) and you’ll see this:

“Wait,” you say. “What if I want to see hotels a little farther away?”  Relax.  Drag the above screen up and you’ll see this:

So let’s say you decide Monterey would be a nice place to visit.  Scroll down a little further and tap “Monterey.”  The Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa is justifiably famous:

Tap one of the tiles to expand to full-screen:

But even better — the larger image is actually part of a slideshow. Swipe your finger and the next image appears.

State-of-the-art iOs applications are rare.  This one is unbelievably slick.  Highly recommended.
